When building brick structures it’s paramount to apply a sealant and waterproof. This is because, over time, bricks stain and wear down, allowing insects and weeds into the structure as well as damaging the bricks themselves. Applying a sealant to bricks provides a protective coating which prevents dirt and stains form penetrating into the paver, making it easier to clean in the future. Brick sealers also provide protection from ultraviolet rays, which helps to prevent that dull bleached-out look that occurs when pavers have not been protected with a sealer. A sealant also helps to seal in the joint stabilization sand, helping seal out insects and local vegetation.
