Mar-flex Dampproofing Products
Rising damp, a term used to describe water vapor rising from under the foundation, occurs for various reasons including failures, bridging, or the absence of damp proof courses. Brick, stone, and mortar are porous materials allowing damp from the lowest levels to rise through a form of vapor transmission called capillary action. When damp rises from under a foundation it carries with it various ground salts which absorb moisture from the atmosphere leading to wall dampness. The salts can also ruin nearby decorations and destroy internal plaster. Using Mar-flex Waterproofing and Building Products‘ line of dampproofing spray-on membranes eliminates the need for replacement and protects against future damage.
